Remembering Christmas Past

This photo was taken in the late 60s (I'm guessing 66 or 67). First, I love the “modern feel” of the look: the drapes, the TV, the Christmas Tree, the clothing. Second, remember when people dressed up for Christmas! Third, Kevin, do you still have that tie? It is a keeper.

Of course, I wish I did have the tie my father was wearing.

I got an email from my father about this picture...

"I was looking at John's inkslinger site yesterday and brought up that photo you have called "Christmas Past" and I would just comment a little bit about the clothes I was wearing. First the color of the suit and tie was called black burgundy. I bought the suit through a Sear's store in Harrisburg, Pa. It was a custom tailored suit and I had the lapels made in a narrow cut with rounded tips, I bought this suit after I had my first interview with a first line IBM manager at Williamsport. After that interview he set up an interview with the Harrisburg Branch Office Manager and suggested I wear a suit (I didn't even own a suit and never wore one). I proceeded to go in debt and buy the suit. After my interview with the HBOM the first line manager took me aside and told me, jokingly, that he didn't mean to suggest that I outdress his boss. I was hired and I never owned another custom tailored suit."
